The ITS World Congress 2023 was held from 16 to 20 October in Suzhou, China. The event was the perfect platform for PoDIUM to exchange knowledge and experience of CCAM services with an international audience of experts in the mobility sector.
During Technical Session 17 on ‘Pilots, Trials and Tests of Intelligent and Autonomous Vehicles’, Ilaria De Biasi (Autostrada del Brennero) presented a paper on PoDIUM titled ‘The Brenner Motorway as a Living Lab for Testing CCAM’. She presented one of the PoDIUM use cases in the Italian Living Lab of the project, which will be demonstrated in a tunnel on the Brenner motorway. Her presentation offered a comprehensive overview of the infrastructure of this motorway in the north of Italy, highlighting the cutting-edge services and tools it offers and why it is the perfect testing ground for the PoDIUM use case on ‘Risk Management in a Highway Tunnel’, which aims to improve traffic monitoring and risk assessment in tunnels to reduce the number of accidents.
