PoDIUM was delighted to participate in the 24th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks ICTON 2024, held in Bari, Italy, from 14 to 18 July. The conference covered a wide range of topics, with a special focus on the applications of transparent and all-optical technologies in telecommunications, computing, sensing, and quantum applications.
On 15 July, Jordi Casademont, representing our partner Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, presented a paper entitled ‘Real-time responsive Physical and Digital Infrastructure for CCAM-enabled Traffic Management of cross-border highways’. His presentation highlighted PoDIUM’s technical objectives, the use cases demonstrated in our three Living Labs, and provided an overview of the communication and functional view of the PoDIUM platform architecture. The presentation also focused on the requirements, needs, and enabling technologies of PoDIUM’s Use Case 3 on “Real-time responsive PDI for CCAM-enabled Traffic Management in the Mediterranean Cross-Border Corridor”. These aspects are further elaborated in the full paper.
